Sunday, December 6th will mark the 20th anniversary of the École Polytechnique massacre, where 14 women lost their lives in 1989 at the hands of lone gunman, Marc Lépine.

  December 6th is now commemorated as the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, a call to action against discrimination against women.  This day represents an opportunity for Canadians to reflect on the increased level of violence against women in our society.  It is also an opportunity to consider the women and girls for whom violence is a daily reality, and to remember those who have died as a result of gender-based violence.

Please take a moment to remember these brave women.
