Since our last communication, your TWU/Telus Bargaining Committee has been researching and preparing our 2010 package for the beginning of the face-to-face negotiations with Telus.

We have taken some new and promising steps in preparing for bargaining this year.In early June, the TWU and Telus met to discuss bargaining procedures and ground rules, which were set and agreed to by both parties. On July 6 and 7, the Committee met with the Company at Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services to take part in joint training, covering skills such as communication and impasse avoidance. The Committee views these proceedings as positive steps toward respectful bargaining on both sides.The bargaining package is complete and the Committee continues to fine tune it in preparation for the exchange of proposals.Notice to bargain will be sent to the Company on July 19 with face-to-face bargaining scheduled to begin on July 26. The Committee continues to work diligently on what will be an important round of negotiations and will continue to update members throughout the process.
