The Bargaining Committee met with Telus on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, and completed the first pass through all of the bargaining proposals that each side has put on the table.

  The Union and the company met for the first time on July 26, 2010, to exchange proposals.  The parties have conducted 12 face-to-face meetings to date, where each side was able to gain a full understanding of the other’s proposals.  When not meeting face-to-face with the company, the Committee continues to do research and preparation work.

Now that the parties fully understand each other’s proposals, the Committee intends to focus on the next phase of discussions which will consist of grouping items of a similar nature together.  Discussions will now focus on resolving differences between the parties. 

The parties expect to meet again September 29 and have meetings scheduled until the end of the year.
