The Telecommunications Workers Union (TWU) Political Action Committee would like to urge Alberta members to participate in a Friends of Medicare rally at the Alberta Legislature on Saturday, December 4, 2010, at 1 p.m.

The Government has pushed through Bill 17, which is part of the plan for two-tier health and private insurance.  This Saturday, December 4, at 1 p.m., Albertans from across the province will converge on the Alberta Legislature (10800 97 Ave, Edmonton), to send Premier Ed Stelmach a strong message:  “As Canadians, we won’t stand for the destruction of our public health-care system.” Speakers will include Raj Sherman, MLA for Edmonton-Meadowlark, who was recently kicked out of the Conservative caucus for speaking out about health care, Elaine Fleming from Whitemud Citizens for Public Health, and former NDP MLA David Eggen, who is the Executive Director of Friends of Medicare.
