International Workers’ Day – May 1
Posted 2011-Apr-29

The May 1st Coalition, which includes trade unions, community and student groups, have joined together this year to highlight International Workers’ Day in Quebec, with a unified message directed at private companies.

Increasingly resorting to lock-out tactics which only serve to further alienate multinationals from unionization, privatization of public services, excessive bonuses to executives, closure of plants which are still profitable, and elicitation of billions of dollars by insatiable banks:  Enough is enough!  To them we say:  It is time for accountability!

The Coalition condemns these companies, too numerous to count, that believe they can get away with anything and use their newspapers to influence people and promote the private sector to get their hands on our public services.
