Air Canada flight attendants, members of CUPE 4095, are seeking a fair deal in contract negotiations, but are facing opposition from the employer.
Air Canada flight attendants have gone for years without a pay raise, making sacrifices to help ensure the survival of the company. Now, as they seek a new deal, they see their income, pensions and benefits under attack, while executives continue to receive their bonuses and have their pensions and benefits protected.
Alberta Federation of Labour’s position: It is time Air Canada treated all its employees with respect and fairness. This fight is bigger than Air Canada and flight attendants – it’s about defending decent wages for all workers, and defending pensions for when those workers retire.
Action: Join the information picket line at Calgary International Airport today (Departures level), September 16, 2011, at 4 p.m.
