Telecommunications Workers Union (TWU) members recently voted on a proposed membership dues increase of 0.4 per cent. 

The ballots were tallied yesterday and the results are as follows:

Ballots cast: 738
Spoiled ballots: 1
Eligible ballots: 737

Yes: 409
No: 328

Yes = 55.56%

The dues increase did not pass since a ‘yes’ vote of at least 66 2/3 per cent was needed.

Please note that Executive Council has met over the matter and, as a result, is implementing cost saving measures.
