Please Support UFCW Canada Members on Strike
Posted 2011-Apr-8

United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Canada members working for Enterprise, National and Alamo Car Rentals at the Toronto Airport have been on strike since Friday, March 11, 2011.

The company’s crippling demands include:

•    Cutting wages up to $4.50 per hour, making them the lowest wages in the industry
•    Reducing sick days
•    Removing religious holidays
•    Eliminating seniority
•    Forcing employees to pay 100% of their benefit premiums
•    Dictating what those premiums will be based on personal opinion instead of on experience or rates
•    Threatening to contract out to a third party if demands are not met
•    Slashing $2 million off the backs of the workers

All these demands despite the parent company Enterprise having an annual revenue of $12.6 billion.

Please give the UFCW workers your full support by not renting vehicles from Enterprise, National or Alamo Car Rental facilities across the country until the labour dispute is settled and spread the word.

Call any one of these Enterprise companies and tell them you won’t be using their services:

National Car Rental        1-800-227-7368
Enterprise Car Rental    1-800-263-6350
Alamo Car Rental        1-800-462-5266

Other UFCW Canada unionized companies include:  Avis, Budget, Hertz and Dollar Thrifty.
