Join hotel workers across North America in a historic protest against global hotel corporations.
In 14 cities, including Vancouver, 50,000 hotel workers will be demonstrating their unity and their determination to fight for respect in an industry dominated by wealthy multinational companies that continue cutting jobs and trying to squeeze more from workers.
The protest on July 22 targets the Hyatt Regency Vancouver. Hyatt Corporation is a $5.5 billion global company owned by one of the 10 wealthiest families in the world. 1600 workers in Vancouver at the Hyatt, Four Seasons, Westin Bayshore and Renaissance hotels are bargaining new union contracts this year. All of these hotels are operated by wealthy global corporations. The majority of hotel workers are women and immigrants. All hotel workers deserve safe jobs that support families and provide for a secure future.
Location: Hyatt Regency Vancouver, 655 Burrard St.
Date: Thursday, July 22, 2010
Time: 5:00 p.m.
All Hotel workers, friends and allies are invited to attend. Please note that TWU members who choose to attend must do so at their own personal expense and time.
