TWU in the Media
Posted 2009-Feb-6

Job security is on everyone’s mind these days and it doesn’t help to know that TELUS is moving more jobs overseas. The TWU was recently featured in the media regarding this very topic.

"TELUS earns money in Canada and has a duty to employ people in Canada," argues George Doubt, TWU President.

Please read more quotes from Mr. Doubt in today’s Vancouver Sun article entitled "TELUS Union Protests Job Shift to the Philipines" by referring to the following link: http://www.vancouversun.com/Business/Telus+union+protests+shift+Philippines/1258311/story.html

To hear a radio interview with Mr. Doubt, which aired Thursday, February 5, 2009, on CKNW, please refer to the CKNW audio vault on their Web site (http://www.cknw.com/StationShared/AudioVault.aspx) and listen to the 6 a.m. morning news.

The TWU is doing everything it can to address this issue. Members will see more information in the coming days, weeks and months to bring attention to all Canadians about what TELUS is doing. The TWU would like to thank all of its members for expressing their opinions and concerns.
