TWU supports USW Boycott of Sears Canada
Posted 2010-May-5

On April 1, 2010, Sears Canada locked out 500 members at a Sears warehouse and distribution centre in Vaughan, Ontario.

This came as the Company sought rollbacks in pension, healthcare benefits, vacation entitlements, and other standard provisions during negotiations in late March.  The Company walked away from the bargaining table and refused to return.

The Telecommunications Workers Union (TWU) fully supports the efforts of the United Steelworkers (USW) that represents these 500 Sears Canada workers and asks TWU members to also support our fellow sisters and brother by boycotting Sears Canada.

The TWU will keep members informed as the situation evolves.
