The New Westminster District Labour Council, Joy MacPhail and other progressive institutions and individuals have endorsed the 2010 Vancity Action Team (see team members listed below) and ask that you also support them in the upcoming Vancity Board of Directors 2010 election.

The Team’s platform is aimed at protecting the long-term vision of Vancity as an innovative and progressive community financial institution.  While addressing challenges that include the global economic crisis, the Action Team will also look to:

•    Freeze fees
•    Protect community investment
•    Rebuild trust
•    Hassle-free lending
•    Improve member service

Vancity members can vote by mail-in ballot or in person at a branch.  On the Vancity ballot, please vote for:

For more than 20 years, the Action Team has led Vancity to pioneer new territory in community investment, sustainability, member service, and innovative finance.  The team is committed to maintaining that legacy, ensuring that Vancity continues to serve and strengthen its communities, and inspire others.

In 2007, VanTel-Safeway Credit Union, an organization founded by the Telecommunications Workers Union and the largest employee-based credit union in B.C., joined with Vancity.  Credit Unions are member-driven organizations.  TWU members have always played an active role in the governance of VanTel-Safeway.  We are confident that they will continue to play an active role with respect to Vancity.
