TWU Convention update Day 1
President Opens TWU Convention in Gatineau, QC
National Telecommunications Workers Union President, George Doubt, opened the 2010 Convention on Monday, February 1, 2010, in front of an eager crowd of 112 TWU delegates and invited guests. This year’s Policy Convention is taking place in Gatineau, Quebec, a short distance from the nation’s capital, from February 1-6.
“It is 2010, a year we have been preparing for and a year which will define our Union.” He continued, “I strongly believe that if we work together…we can succeed and create a positive outcome for our members. United, the members will never be defeated.”
Brother Doubt closed his morning address asking for a moment of silence in memory of the TWU brothers and sisters who passed away this past year. He also asked to share this moment to remember Haiti’s victims. For TWU members who wish to make a donation, please refer to the Hotline posted on the TWU website “Donations for Haiti Earthquake Victims Needed” (January 14, 2010) for more detailed information.
